Scottie Segreaves Scholarship

Scottie's love for football began at a young age and grew through the years. Scottie began playing flag football at the youth level with the PPYF and continued through the Varsity tackle team. Scottie went on to play in middle school and during his 8th-grade year he had a standout season recording 7 punt returns. During his high School football career, Scottie was proud to be part of the undefeated 2018 JV tackle team. Along the way, he formed lasting bonds with coaches, teammates, and friends and created many cherished memories.

As a dedicated varsity athlete in high school, Scottie's versatility on the field made him a prominent player. He played both linebacker and running back, thrilling Pirate fans with his speed and numerous touchdowns. He contributed on special teams, even stepping in as the kicker when needed. Scottie's willingness to play wherever the team needed him was a true reflection of his selflessness and team first attitude.

Beyond his athletic ability, Scottie will be remembered most for his kindness and leadership. He was always ready to teach and help support his teammates. Scottie's level of leadership and compassion has left a lasting impact on everyone around him.

The Palisades Pirates Youth Football Organization (PPYF) is honored to present the Scottie Segreaves scholarship award to a "senior level" youth player moving onto middle school to continue to play football. The player selected should represent the leadership and kindness that Scottie had both on and off the field.

The scholarship award has the following requirements:

- Essay written by the senior player describing themselves, how they are unique to the organization, impact sports has had on their life, and fondest memory from their youth football career

- Proof of Community Service Participation

By presenting this scholarship the PPYF organization hopes to continue to honor Scottie’s memory as an outstanding teammate, talented athlete, and beloved friend.
